Rather than training on a single program, our work focuses on how teachers make instructional decisions, use models and representations, and respond to student thinking. Instructional Learning Labs

Connected learning cycles that move instruction forward

Instructional Learning Labs are a small series of intentionally connected sessions designed to support teams in trying new instructional approaches, studying student thinking, and refining practice using real classroom evidence over time. 

    • Instruction is observed or modeled, then implemented and revisited using representations that reveal and advance student thinking

    • Between sessions, we collaborate with teachers and coaches to develop intentional instructional plans, including task selection, representations, and questioning aligned to learning goals

    • Teachers apply agreed-upon strategies and collect classroom evidence between sessions 

    • Authentic student work, observations, or other instructional artifacts are analyzed collaboratively

    • Instructional next steps are identified and refined based on patterns in student thinking, teacher moves,and learning progressions.

    • Grade-level teams, coaches, or instructional sub-groups

    • Schools that are beginning an instructional shift

    • Teams seeking coherence and rigor without a full multi-year commitment

    • 3–6 sessions across a semester or school year

Focused Learning Experiences

High-leverage workshops that build instructional clarity and shared mathematical understanding

Focused Learning Experiences are interactive, workshop-based sessions that build shared instructional understanding and common language around learning trajectories, pedagogical moves, and instructional models that guide coherent mathematics instruction across MTSS. Sessions may be offered individually or combined as a short, intentional series, depending on instructional goals and context.

    • Leading educators through learning progressions and key teaching moves to highlight how mathematical ideas develop and what supports next steps in instruction

    • Analyzing selected student work and classroom scenarios to examine how models and educational choices influence student strategies

    • Connecting content, pedagogy, and learning progressions to daily instruction across MTSS

    • Studying questioning examples to assess understanding and move student thinking forward

    • Helping teams identify a small number of high-leverage instructional priorities to guide classroom practice

    • Launching or refining an instructional focus

    • Building shared understanding of learning progressions and pedagogical moves 

    • Preparing teams for deeper implementation work

Transformational Math Partnerships

Sustained partnerships that align instructional practice and build lasting systems of change

Transformational Math Partnerships are deep, sustained collaborations designed to support school- or district-wide improvement in mathematics by strengthening how instructional decisions are made, supported, and sustained across classrooms, teams, and leadership structures.

    • Partnering with school and district leaders to identify high-leverage instructional priorities grounded in student learning needs

    • Co-designing a coherent instructional roadmap that aligns instruction, coaching, curriculum, and MTSS

    • Facilitating professional learning for teachers, coaches, and leaders together to build shared understanding and aligned action

    • Providing between-session leadership support to plan, adjust, and strengthen instructional decisions

    • Guiding the study of classroom-based evidence over time to inform system-level improvement

    • Building internal capacity and leadership routines so that effective practices are sustained beyond the partnership

    • Schools and districts making mathematics a strategic priority
